NARA Organic Ajwa Dates

Ajwa is one of the oldest and most revered date varieties in the world, having been cultivated for thousands of years in volcanic terrain near Medina, Saudi Arabia. Considered the "dates of the Prophet", Ajwa are deeply rooted in the traditions of the Arab world and have been consumed for centuries for their nutritional and spiritual virtues.

They are smaller in size, with a firm pulp and a discreet sweetness, balanced by slightly spicy notes. Due to their dense and consistent texture, Ajwa dates offer a completely different experience than other dates, being closer to a functional food than a dessert. They are also distinguished by their high mineral content, a result of the nutrient-rich soil.

Saudi Arabia

Our partner farm in Saudi Arabia is located in the picturesque Al Ghat region, approximately 200 kilometers northwest of the vibrant capital Riyadh. Al Ghat offers ideal conditions for growing dates, with hot summers and mild winters.

The farm is a pioneer of organic farming in Saudi Arabia and was one of the first farms in the country to receive EU organic certification. Our Saudi farmer attaches great importance to environmental protection and the conservation of natural resources and has decided not to use chemical fertilizers or pesticides.

Many different varieties of dates are grown on the farm. We currently source 9 of our date varieties from this Saudi partner farm.
