Khidri is a date variety originating from Egypt and cultivated today in the most suitable organic oases in Saudi Arabia. It is distinguished by its elongated shape, velvety, deep reddish-brown skin, and soft, almost creamy core.

They are harvested at full maturity and left to dry naturally, thus preserving their pleasant consistency and warm aroma. Refined tasters love them for their balance between density, moisture and round taste.

Saudi Arabia

Our partner farm in Saudi Arabia is located in the picturesque Al Ghat region, approximately 200 kilometers northwest of the vibrant capital Riyadh. Al Ghat offers ideal conditions for growing dates, with hot summers and mild winters.

The farm is a pioneer of organic farming in Saudi Arabia and was one of the first farms in the country to receive EU organic certification. Our Saudi farmer attaches great importance to environmental protection and the conservation of natural resources and has decided not to use chemical fertilizers or pesticides.

Many different varieties of dates are grown on the farm. We currently source 9 of our date varieties from this Saudi partner farm.

Khidri dates are an excellent source of fiber, supporting digestion and maintaining a feeling of satiety. They contain natural sugars (fructose and glucose), which provide quick energy without overloading the body.

They are rich in potassium, magnesium, iron and phosphorus – essential minerals for the optimal functioning of the muscular and nervous systems. B vitamins and antioxidants contribute to maintaining healthy skin and cell regeneration. They are the perfect snack for active breaks and for inner balance.

Khidri dates are versatile – delicate enough to be enjoyed on their own, yet intense enough to enhance any fine cheese platter. Their subtle flavor, with notes of raisins and light caramel, makes them ideal for pairing with nuts, granola, toasted almonds, or dark chocolate.
